THE DOMAIN Established in 1822 with only a few plots of vines, animals and soil, this domain has continued to increase constantly over the last four generations, from father to daughter.
Respectful of the know-how of our ancestors acquired over the years and in close touch with our terroir, we do our best to satisfy Mother Nature by elaborating wines that are fruity and that form a perfect balance between tradition and modernity.
THE WORKING OF THE VINE Our vines are situated mainly on steep slopes (20 to 40%). Most of the tasks are done manually (pruning, tying-up, cropping...).
Harvesting is also done manually, with a very meticulous selection of the grapes. For the last three years, our vines have been following the "lutte raisonnée ' agriculture. We have reduced treatmants to a maximum and have banished call types of hemical fertilizers. Hence we practice natural sodding as well as ploughing.
WINE-MAKING and MATURING Wine-making is traditional. The different cuvées such as Morgon Vieilles Vignes (Old Vines) or Morgon « l’Esprit Côte du Py » will differentiate from one another only after the maturing stage.
Certain cuvées will benefit from stalk stripping in order to bring suppleness and fruitiness.
Each terroir is matured in small to medium tanks which will, then, be blended after tasting based on their originality and their structure. Most of our wines will become finer, one after the other, over a period of 3 to 6 months in our oak barrels.
